Kang Qiang, Deputy General Manager of Handan International Land Port Co., Ltd., stated that Handan International Land Port has cleared the “last kilometer” for railway logistics to enter the park, achieving direct connection with coastal ports. This adds a new strategic channel for Handan’s “maritime development” and marks new progress in Handan’s construction of a production-service-oriented national logistics hub.
As a key demonstration project for the “shift from road to rail” promoted by nine ministries including the Ministry of Transport, this dedicated railway line is designed with an annual transport capacity of 5 million tons and a container handling capacity of 300,000 TEUs, making it an important hub for the modern logistics system in Hebei Province and Handan City.
“The opening of the dedicated line will leverage the advantages of railway transport, such as large volume, high efficiency, and low carbon emissions, effectively reducing the transportation costs for bulk commodities, improving corporate logistics efficiency, and promoting the agglomeration of logistics enterprises,” said Kang Qiang. He added that in the next step, with the improvement of the railway customs supervision area functions, China-Europe freight trains will be able to enter the park, achieving one-time declaration, one-time inspection, and one-time clearance. This will provide efficient “one-stop” services for import and export enterprises, offering a convenient sea access channel for goods from Handan City and even the Southern Hebei region to reach the national and global markets, equivalent to bringing the “seaport” to the “doorstep.” (End)
