Hangzhou Modern Design Delivers Multiple Energy-Efficient Container Ships in Series

Recently, the 558TEU series container ships and 788TEU series container ships, designed by Hangzhou Modern Ship Design & Research Co., Ltd. (“Hangzhou Modern”) and built by Ningbo Boda Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., have successively completed sea trials and been delivered.

The two types of vessels delivered this time are both custom-built for Indonesian shipowners, designed in accordance with the construction specifications for Class I navigation areas stipulated by the Maritime Safety Administration and the China Classification Society, and will be deployed on routes serving Indonesian ports. The 558TEU container ship has an overall length of 119.90 meters, a molded breadth of 21.80 meters, and a molded depth of 7.30 meters. It is a steel, single-deck, aft-engine, forward-pilothouse arrangement, with forecastle and poop deck combined with multi-tiered accommodation deckhouses. It is equipped with two 40-tonne deck cranes on the port side, available in configurations with and without cranes, featuring shallow draft and large cargo capacity. The 788TEU container ship has an overall length of 129.90 meters, a molded breadth of 22.80 meters, and a molded depth of 8.30 meters. It adopts an aft-pilothouse layout, with 4 cargo holds capable of stowing standard and high-cube containers throughout the entire area. It is equipped with twin 40-tonne deck cranes, offering strong quayside adaptability, efficient loading and unloading operations, and outstanding comprehensive operational advantages.

The /788TEU container ships are all energy-efficient series vessel types, with over 60 units built in batches, receiving unanimous praise from Southeast Asian shipowners.

Recently, the 934TEU open-hatch container series vessel “Hanhai 68”, designed by Hangzhou Modern and built by Jiangsu Yizheng Yangzi Ship Engineering Co., Ltd., completed sea trials and was delivered.

This vessel has an overall length of 134.90 meters, a molded breadth of 22.60 meters, a design draft of 7.75 meters, and a deadweight tonnage of 16,000 tons. It is classed with the China Classification Society (CCS) and primarily operates on domestic coastal routes. It is a steel, single-engine, single-propeller, aft-engine diesel vessel, featuring double bottom and double side shells, a single continuous deck, equipped with a forecastle and an aft engine room casing, with a three-tier deckhouse above the forecastle serving as crew accommodation. The vessel has 7 cargo holds, suitable for 20-foot and 40-foot standard, extra-long, and high-cube containers, with no cargo hatch covers, enabling efficient and convenient loading and unloading operations. It also boasts advantages such as low fuel consumption, high speed, large cargo capacity, and neat appearance, making it one of the company’s excellent design vessel types.
