HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. reported that it has secured an order worth 357.5 billion won (245 million dollars) to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for Angola’s state-owned oil company.
The contract was awarded by Sonangol Shipping Holding Ltd. with delivery scheduled for June 2028, the company said in a regulatory filing.
HD Hyundai Samho is one of the three shipbuilding subsidiaries of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE), along with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. and HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co.
The shipyard is a sub-holding company of HD Hyundai Co., South Korea’s leading shipbuilding group. HD KSOE aims to secure orders worth 23.31 billion dollars this year, up from 18.16 billion dollars last year.
