The Koerschulte Group of Lüdenscheid has created Germany’s first completely automated drone delivery service.
The drone flights are supervised by HHLA Sky’s Integrated Control centre, a fully automated process management and control centre software that ensures the safety of all drone operations and makes the service readily scalable.
Two years of development work led to the establishment of the first commercial delivery drone airline for business-to-business (B2B) courier services using autonomous flying drones.

The German Federal Office of Civil Aeronautics has previously awarded the Koerschulte Group the first countrywide permit for scheduled delivery drone flights.
According to HHLA, this marks the launch of Germany’s first delivery drone airline authorised to fly autonomously in public spaces (SAIL III operating permission).
The first customer is Hotset, a sensor and process control technology firm based in Lüdenscheid, Germany.
In the future months, another five air routes will be introduced.
The unmanned drones will reportedly deliver up to 80 goods to consumers in Lüdenscheid each day.
Recently, HHLA reported an 8.3 per cent decrease in group revenue to €1.44 billion ($1.55 billion) in 2023, compared to €1.57 billion ($1.69 billion) the previous year.
