Major General Yusuf Al-Madani, Chairman of the General Staff aligned with the Houthi authorities in Yemen, warned that Israeli navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas could again face disruption if hostilities in Gaza resume.
In a written response to the Al-Qassam Brigades’ message of condolence over the death of Major General Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari, Al-Madani stated: “We are closely monitoring developments and announce that if the enemy resumes its aggression against Gaza, we will return to our military operations deep in the Zionist entity and will reimpose the ban on Israeli navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas.”
The message marks a renewed threat to maritime traffic through one of the world’s key shipping corridors, where previous Houthi activity had forced vessels to reroute and raised insurance costs for commercial operators.
Al-Madani’s statement, framed as a conditional warning, did not specify the nature, scope, or timing of potential operations.
