On September 26, the first 38,000-ton multi-purpose heavy lift vessel “HMM Narae” (H2516), built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited in conjunction with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) for South Korea’s largest shipping company HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine), successfully completed the signing of the delivery documents via a cloud-based ceremony connecting Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Seoul. On the same day, the No. 3 ship in the series, H2518, was successfully launched, achieving a seamless connection of the “delivery + launching” dual milestones.

The delivered 38,000-ton multi-purpose heavy lift vessel has an overall length of 182 meters, a beam of 30 meters, and a depth of 16 meters. It is equipped with three cargo holds, hydraulic folding hatch covers, lift-away hatch covers, two 400-ton and one 200-ton cranes, a扇形导管 (sector duct), and other equipment. It can flexibly load various types of cargo, including large-scale engineering equipment and containers, and possesses significant advantages of high speed and fuel efficiency. The construction quality has been highly recognized by the shipowner.

Prior to the project’s delivery, it coincided with the landing of Typhoon “Gaemi” (typhoon number 18 of the year) in Guangdong. Facing this challenge, various departments of the company collaborated closely, coordinating typhoon prevention measures with production work. This ensured the timely achievement of the ship delivery and launching milestones, fully demonstrating Huangpu Wenchong’s traditional style of being capable of tackling tough battles and firmly anchoring goals, laying a solid foundation for completing the annual ship delivery task.
