“Huayang Long” successfully completed the long-distance transport mission of four ships from Bangladesh to Egypt.

Recently, the “Huayang Long” vessel from the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau successfully unloaded four ships at the anchorage of Alexandria Port in Egypt, completing its voyage from Chittagong, Bangladesh, to Alexandria, Egypt. The total voyage covered 5,398 nautical miles and took 30 days.

During this voyage, the “Huayang Long” loaded two dredgers and two anchor boats in Chittagong, Bangladesh, for transport to Alexandria, Egypt, with a total tonnage of 14,085 tons for the four vessels. Due to rough seas and strong currents at the loading site, coupled with a period of adverse weather conditions, the suitable loading window was extremely brief. The project team scientifically adjusted the cargo draft, minimized the time the cargo spent on the dock, and implemented a three-stage submersion loading plan to shorten each loading phase. Through the joint efforts of the ship and shore teams, the four vessels were safely loaded onto the deck of the “Huayang Long.” After intensive and orderly lashing and securing, the vessel set sail for Alexandria, Egypt, in early June.

The “Huayang Long” navigated through the Bay of Bengal, crossed the Indian Ocean, entered the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, and successfully passed through the Suez Canal before reaching its destination in the Mediterranean Sea—Alexandria, Egypt. Along the way, the vessel traversed multiple high-risk piracy zones and the Red Sea conflict area. Throughout the journey, the ship and shore teams worked closely together, monitoring weather changes and adjusting the route flexibly to effectively avoid cross-waves and swells, preventing excessive rolling beyond safety standards and ensuring the safe transport of both the vessel and its cargo.

In late June, the “Huayang Long” arrived safely at Alexandria Port. Upon arrival, the team promptly and systematically arranged cargo release and completed preparations for unloading. The unloading operation was conducted in two phases, and thanks to the coordinated efforts of all parties involved, the entire process was carried out safely and efficiently.
