On September 29, the construction of the large 13600TEU container ship H1944A, built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding for Seaspan, commenced with the steel cutting ceremony at the Manufacturing Department II in the western plant area.
Leaders and guests including Nan Xiangfu, the head of Seaspan’s resident site supervision team, Zhang Qinlei, Manager of DNV’s Shanghai Regional Newbuilding Department, and Liu Xuedong, the company’s Chief Constructor for container ships, attended the commencement activity.
Manufacturing Department II stated that it will strictly adhere to the construction guidelines for this ship type, deeply apply lean tools, continuously optimize processes and construction methods, and steadily promote efficient welding, striving to create a high-quality and benchmark vessel among ships of the same type.
