Hunter Group contemplates new project

Must read

Hunter Group has closed sale on its last tanker and now gears up for major dividend disbursements. Additionally, management is looking to embark on new maritime projects.

Hunter Group only recently sold off its last remaining tanker, and now the company is looking at three potential investment items within shipping.

”We are still working on some projects, and if they are to materialize, our plan is to reach out to shareholders to find out if they could be interested in joining our investments,” says CEO Erik Frydendal to Norwegian daily Finansavisen.

In a stock exchange announcement issued on Thursday, Hunter Group called for an extraordinary general meeting on Jan. 19.

”In the board of director’s opinion, the distribution proposal is appropriate. After the distribution, the company will have adequate equity and liquidity,” the message reads.

Hunter Group is controlled by shipping investor Arne Fredly.

Hunter Group commanded a fleet of seven VLCC ships, all legally owned by subsidiary Hunter Tankers.
