The Greek Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) recently announced the completion of the selection process for the Navatrade S.A. scholarships, dedicated to the memory of the company’s founder, George Sklavounos. Five young and ambitious professionals were selected to receive a partial scholarship for their participation in the “ICS Professional Maritime Programme” for the 2025–26 academic year.

The five scholarship recipients are Ms. Antigone Vasilaki, Mr. Georgios Karaiskos, Mr. Stylianos Kotsonis, Mr. Antonis Manousos, and Mr. Marios Delis, who have already begun their studies in the “ICS Professional Maritime” programme, which leads to the ICS professional certification.

To mark the beginning of this important educational journey, a special event was held on Monday, October 6th, at the facilities of the ICS Greek Branch in Piraeus. The event was attended by the new scholarship recipients, Ms. Kelly Sklavounou of Navatrade S.A., Ms. Natalia Margiolis, Managing Director of the ICS Greek Branch, and Ms. Stavroula Tape, Academic Director of the ICS Greek Branch. The event provided a valuable opportunity for the scholarship recipients to get to know each other, connect with the Navatrade representative, and celebrate their success.

With 44 years of presence in the dry cargo chartering sector, Navatrade S.A. continues to tangibly support the new generation of shipping professionals. These scholarships are a tribute to George Sklavounos, a charismatic entrepreneur who deeply believed in the importance of passing knowledge to the younger generation. For its part, the ICS Greek Branch expressed its warm thanks to Navatrade S.A. for this valuable contribution and warmly congratulates the five selected scholarship recipients.
