Imabari Shipbuilding delivered the 181,000 deadweight ton Nord Tramp bulk carrier, built at its Saijo facility.

This Capesize bulk carrier has 9 holds and 9 hatches, the largest of its kind to have entered the Port of Dunkerque.

Each hold is equipped with a top tank and a hopper tank, making it ideal for shipping solid bulk cargoes, such as iron ore and coal.

Furthermore, to facilitate the loading and transport of iron ore, the vessel’s main cargo, it is designed to allow alternate holds for carrying high-density cargo (3.0 t/ m³).

To comply with the Tier 3 NOx regulations for preventing atmospheric pollution, the vessel is equipped with an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system for the main engine and a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system for the generator engine. It also features an Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS) to reduce sulfur oxide (SOx) emissions.

In addition, it has energy-saving devices installed near the propeller and a hull paint coating that reduces friction with seawater, thus improving propulsion performance and environmental impact.
