On June 18, the General Administration of Customs released the table of China’s major export commodities in May this year. Statistics show that in May this year, China exported 577 ships, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%, with a value of 37.65127 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%. In the first five months of this year, China’s cumulative ship exports reached 2,637 ships, a year-on-year decrease of 3.7%, with a value of 175.75131 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.5%.

From the perspective of specific exported ship types, in May this year, China exported 36 liquid cargo ships, with a value of 12.49738 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 80% in the number of ships and a significant year-on-year increase of 158.3% in value. From January to May, China exported 187 liquid cargo ships, a year-on-year increase of 67%, with a value of 64.34813 billion yuan, a significant year-on-year increase of 188.8%.

In May this year, China exported 11 container ships, with a value of 7.51135 billion yuan, with the number of ships and value decreasing by 31.3% and 29.8% year-on-year respectively. From January to May, China exported 46 container ships, with a value of 24.31238 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 41% and 37.8% respectively.

In May, China exported 55 bulk carriers, with a value of 11.08050 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.2% and 117.8% respectively. From January to May, China’s cumulative export of bulk carriers reached 218 ships, with a value of 40.95494 billion yuan, a slight year-on-year increase of 1.9% in the number of ships and a year-on-year increase of 41.5% in value.
