Inaugural Geneva Dry launches

The global dry bulk shipping community has converged in Switzerland this week for today’s grand opening of the first Geneva Dry, a conference designed to be the annual summit for shipping’s largest sector.

Myriad parties on the sidelines of Geneva Dry organised by trading houses, shipowners, port agents, tech firms and brokers have given the event a genuine shipping week vibe as today’s inaugural summit gets underway.

With close to 600 delegates from 48 nations, 51 sponsors, and nine exhibitors, the show brings together every rung of the commodities shipping supply chain for the first time.

Set to give the opening address today, Florence Schurch, secretary-general of SUISSENÉGOCE, the country’s top commodity trading and shipping association, commented: “The Geneva Dry event, much like our work at SUISSENÉGOCE, is grounded in the belief that exchange among peers and communication are key to navigating the complexities of our sector. This event offers a unique opportunity for stakeholders across the dry bulk supply chain to discuss critical challenges, share innovations, and explore potential collaborations that could lead to sustainable growth and efficiency in the industry.”

Splash will be bringing daily updates from the nine sessions over the coming days.
