As reported by industry sources, VOC Port in Tamil Nadu has reached a significant achievement by successfully managing the handling of 103 windmill blades on November 11, 2025. This marks a historic moment for the facility as it surpasses its previous record of 101 blades exported on August 22, 2025.

From January to October of this year, VOC Port has processed a total of 2,300 windmill blades-a remarkable increase of 61% compared to the same timeframe in 2024 when only 1,425 blades were handled. This surge reflects the growing demand for renewable energy solutions and highlights the port’s capacity to support such initiatives.

The recent shipment arrived aboard the MV GHT MARINAS from Qinzhou in China and is currently being managed at berth-II. The operation employs two mobile cranes to ensure that these large components are handled safely and efficiently.

The windmill blades vary in length from an impressive 89.5 meters to a substantial 76.8 meters, necessitating specialized handling techniques and dedicated storage solutions. Fortunately, VOC Port is equipped with a vast storage area covering over 100,000 square meters within its customs zone specifically designed for oversized cargo like these wind turbine components.

Additionally, the port benefits from seamless road connectivity free from congestion and boasts a highly trained workforce adept at managing complex logistics operations.
