IQIP has signed a rental agreement with Cadeler for the company’s Hydrohammer IQ6, which will be equipped with its innovative PULSE add-on noise-reduction technology

The Hydrohammer will be used for the installation of 64 monopiles at the East Anglia Two offshore windfarm, a project developed and wholly owned by ScottishPower Renewables.

Set to kick off in March 2027, East Anglia Two will rise in the southern North Sea, off the east coast of England. The windfarm will have 64 turbines, each of 15 MW.

The IQ6 was until recently the world’s most powerful impact hammer, providing an impact force of 6,600 kJ, but the company’s IQ8 has now claimed the title of the world’s most powerful hydraulic impact hammer from its predecessor, delivering energy exceeding 7,500 kJ.

PULSE is a noise-reducing technology that ensures a more sustainable and environmentally responsible installation process. It consists of two pistons in a housing with a column of fluid in between. This fluid-filled volume allows PULSE to control impact characteristics, reducing noise at the source and protecting marine life.
