Iran’s oil industry has encountered difficulties following the implementation of a U.S. maritime blockade on Iranian ports, but the government has deployed countermeasures to address the situation, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad told state television on Monday.
Paknejad said Iran’s oil production remained stable during 40 days of conflict and that export operations proceeded favorably during that period. He acknowledged that challenges emerged after the blockade began but said the government has taken action in response.
“Naturally, in the days following the blockade, we have faced challenges but measures were taken and this process continues,” Paknejad said. He did not provide details about the specific countermeasures being implemented.
The oil minister added that countermeasures were prepared in advance and are currently being carried out. “The enemy is full of delusions,” Paknejad said.
