IT cost benchmarking initiative launches Uni-Tankers

Thetius, a British maritime tech research firm, is launching an IT cost benchmarking club for shipowners.

“The integration of new technologies, from cloud-based systems to advanced cybersecurity measures, has shifted IT from a support function to a central business pillar. Yet, without a clear standard for investment and performance, many organisations find themselves navigating blind in a rapidly evolving digital landscape,” the company stated in a release.

This initiative aims to set a new standard for IT spend analysis across shipmanagement, helping owners to make the most of their technology investments. The Thetius IT Cost Benchmarking Club provides a confidential, data-driven platform where shipowners and managers can gauge their IT spending against an extensive peer group.

“The absence of clear benchmarks in IT spending within shipmanagement not only inhibits effective investment but also hinders innovation,” explained Nick Chubb, founder of Thetius.

Members of the club will receive anonymised, detailed benchmarks that illustrate how their IT spending compares to that of their peers.
