On November 2, Jiangnan Shipyard of CSSC and Shandong MarineGroupsigned a contractforfour 98,000 CBM VLEC in Shanghai.
The 98,000 m3 VLEC is designed and developed by JiangnanShipyardand belongs to the “Panda” E-series. The vesselis 230.0 meters long, 36.6 meters wide and has a total capacity of more than 99,000 cubic meters. It also achieves excellent fuel economy while meeting the most stringent IMO emission regulations. Compared with similar vessels built and delivered abroad, Jiangnan Shipyard’s98000 m3 VLEC has the advantages of larger tank capacity, lower oil consumption, less residue in unloading, and no liquid level loading limit. At present, there are three vessels of the same type shuttling between China and the United States ethane trade routes after delivery.
The 98000 m3 VLEC is equipped with BrilliancE®, which is independently developed by Jiangnan. Currently, JiangnanShipyardhas the largest market share of VLEC orders in the world.
