JNPA container throughput up 8.7% in September

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) handled 648,907 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in September 2025, according to data from the port’s monthly performance dashboard.

Total cargo reached 8.36 million metric tonnes (MMT), marking an 8.73% rise in container traffic and a 13.37% increase in overall cargo compared with September 2024. Rail operations handled 611 rakes and 98,325 TEUs, also higher year-on-year.

By terminal, JNPA’s September throughput was distributed as follows: BMCT handled 205,352 TEUs, APMT 187,545 TEUs, NSICT 106,291 TEUs, NSIGT 81,574 TEUs, NSFT 65,330 TEUs, and NSDT 2,815 TEUs. From April to September 2025, the port processed 3,963,509 TEUs and 49.63 MMT of cargo, up 12.36% and 10.79% year-on-year, respectively.
