JPMorganChase announced that shipbuilding will be among the 27 sub-areas covered by its new Security and Resiliency Initiative, a $1.5 trillion, 10-year plan to strengthen U.S. economic and industrial security.

As part of this program, the firm intends to provide financing, advisory services and, in some cases, direct investments to support companies operating in critical sectors, including shipbuilding and related manufacturing industries.

The initiative is designed to bolster the resilience of supply chains and expand the nation’s capacity in areas essential to defense and transportation.

JPMorganChase previously planned to facilitate and finance around $1 trillion over the next decade for clients in critical industries. With this new initiative, that amount could rise by up to $500 billion — a 50% increase — as the firm expands its focus on sectors that contribute to national defense and maritime infrastructure.

JPMorganChase & Co. is a U.S.-based multinational financial services holding company incorporated in Delaware and headquartered in New York City. It provides investment banking, commercial banking, asset management and financial transaction processing services. As of June 30, 2025, the firm reported $4.6 trillion in assets and $357 billion in stockholders’ equity.
