Kalmar and APM Terminals announced a strategic alliance to drive the development of next-generation terminal technology and, in doing so, further ensure the resilience and safety of port operations.
This alliance is focused on the joint development and implementation of software, where APM Terminals will collaborate with its counterparts at Kalmar to jointly foster the Kalmar One solution. The implementation of the software at existing and future terminals will also be carried out in close collaboration.
A key component of this collaboration is the shared value it creates for both organizations through the development of an Automation as a Service approach.

Currently, APM Terminals uses the Kalmar One system at its Pier 400 terminal in Los Angeles, California, which is the largest container port terminal in the Western Hemisphere.
