Rotterdam | 22 giugno 2026 – LBC Tank Terminals ha approvato una nuova importante espansione presso il suo terminal di Rotterdam, impegnandosi nello sviluppo del Progetto Rainbow 5 Phase A, un investimento strategico che aggiungerà circa 41.000 metri cubi di capacità di stoccaggio e rafforzerà ulteriormente il ruolo del porto olandese come hub europeo chiave per prodotti chimici e carichi legati alla transizione energetica.
La decisione finale di investimento segna l’ultima fase della strategia di crescita a lungo termine di LBC a Rotterdam e segue il completamento con successo del recentemente commissionato progetto di espansione Rainbow 3. Una volta completato, Rainbow 5 Phase A aumenterà la capacità totale di stoccaggio del terminal di Rotterdam a circa 295.000 metri cubi, migliorando la capacità di LBC di soddisfare la crescente domanda dei clienti per servizi di stoccaggio e logistica di liquidi alla rinfusa di alta qualità.

Il nuovo investimento arriva poco dopo il commissioning di Rainbow 3, un importante progetto infrastrutturale che ha aggiunto 36 serbatoi di stoccaggio e una stazione di carico dedicata per carri cisterna ferroviari al terminal.
LBC ha dichiarato che il progetto è stato realizzato in sicurezza, mantenendo al contempo operazioni ininterrotte in tutto il terminal attivo, dimostrando la competenza operativa e le capacità di esecuzione dei progetti dell’azienda.
Il completamento di Rainbow 3 ha fornito le basi per la fase successiva di espansione, consentendo a LBC di continuare a rafforzare la propria posizione all’interno di uno dei più importanti cluster logistici chimici ed energetici d’Europa.
Rainbow 5 Phase A comporterà la costruzione di 14 nuovi serbatoi di stoccaggio, sostituendo le infrastrutture più vecchie con strutture moderne progettate per migliorare la sicurezza, l’efficienza operativa e la flessibilità. Il progetto fa parte della strategia più ampia di LBC per modernizzare la propria rete di terminal, supportando al contempo le esigenze in evoluzione dei clienti coinvolti nei mercati chimici, dei prodotti speciali e della transizione energetica.
Oltre ai nuovi serbatoi, l’espansione includerà lo sviluppo di una seconda stazione centrale di carico per autocarri, volta a far fronte al crescente traffico di camion e a migliorare l’efficienza logistica in tutto il terminal. Il progetto stabilirà inoltre ulteriori collegamenti con le infrastrutture portuali esistenti, rafforzando le capacità di movimentazione marittima e consentendo una maggiore flessibilità operativa per i clienti che movimentano merci attraverso il Porto di Rotterdam.
Il commissioning delle nuove strutture è previsto per la fine del 2028.
LBC ha dichiarato che le considerazioni sulla sostenibilità rimangono centrali per lo sviluppo di Rainbow 5 Phase A.
