Liebherr has added to its portfolio of heavy-lift cranes with a new 800-tonne capacity unit
The crane is fully electrically powered and its use can help to reduce CO2emissions from heavy-lift vessels.
The company said the growing size of offshore wind turbines is leading to an increase in the weight of components.
“In addition, handling large components requires a longer outreach,” said the company, noting that more heavy-lift vessels are expected to be required in the offshore wind market as it expands.
