In the “doldrums” lies the reliability of liner companies regarding the adherence to their schedules. According to data from eeSea, reliability regarding scheduled voyages closed at 37% and the monthly averages have not exceeded 40% since November 2023. Average delays in October were 3.7 days, although they continue to be far from the 5 days or less they were moving at in 2024.

The east coast of South America recorded a new rise in October, surpassing Europe and North America and taking the second

position, with an on-time percentage of 48% and a 33% increase in transaction reliability. On the Europe-North America lines, a further drop to 46% was recorded, reflecting the slow but steady decline observed since August. The west coast of South America, which often holds the top position, remained stable at 53% from September to October.

At the liner alliance level, despite the drop recorded in October, the Gemini Cooperation continues to significantly outperform its competitors, with 77% on-time departures and zero blank sailings, compared to Premier’s 75 and Ocean’s 164 since the beginning of the year.
