The port prepares to welcome 45 ships, seven of which will also stay overnight. Ferragosto with tourists in the city for the first time

Livorno – In August, the port of Livorno confirms itself as a central destination for cruise traffic, with 45 ships arriving, eight more than in July. The estimates reported by Il Tirreno indicate around 118,821 expected passengers, a figure up from the 98,184 of the previous month, though slightly below May’s peak.

Most ships will dock between 7 and 9 a.m., with departures concentrated between 7 and 8 p.m. Thirty-nine stops will be daily, while seven ships will remain until the next day, offering the city more opportunities to welcome visitors.

August 1 will see the arrival of the Luminara (420 passengers), which will depart the following day, and the Norwegian Epic, one of the largest of the month with 4,200 tourists. On August 31, however, the highest influx is expected, with nearly 9,600 passengers thanks to the return of the Norwegian Epic and the MSC Seaside, the largest ship of 2025.

A novelty for Ferragosto as well, when the Spirit of Adventure will dock for the first time, with a thousand passengers: an event absent from last year’s calendar.

The main companies remain MSC, with nine ships and over 42,000 passengers, and Norwegian Cruise Line, with seven landings and nearly 29,000 tourists. While maintaining the same number of ships as in August 2024, the passenger count will be slightly lower, though the number of overnight stops increases from five to seven.
