LNG Canada has begun operations at its second liquefied natural gas (LNG) train in Kitimat, BC, marking full operational status for both processing units. With Trains 1 and 2 now producing LNG, the facility reaches its full 14 million tonnes per year capacity, positioning Canada as a growing player in global LNG exports. The project boasts a GHG intensity about 60% below the global average, reflecting its focus on lower-carbon production. The consortium thanked its workforce, contractors, and the Haisla Nation for their support and confirmed plans to continue advancing operations safely and responsibly. A Phase 2 expansion is under study, potentially adding two more trains. Engineering firms Fluor Corporation and JGC Holdings have been commissioned to update the front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the next phase.
