LNG-fuelled Disney Destiny set to leave Papenburg yard on Friday

Shipbuilder Meyer Werft has announced that the LNG-fuelled cruise ship Disney Destiny is set to leave its Papenburg yard on Friday evening (19 September) and then travel along the Ems to arrive at Eemshaven on Sunday morning.

The Disney Destiny will be travel backwards on the Ems with the support of two tugs.

At Emmshaven, the cruise ship will undergo final outfitting before the hand-over to Disney Cruise Line.

The Disney Destiny is the final vessel in a series of three LNG-fuelled ‘Wish Class’ cruise ships that Disney Cruise Line commissioned Meyer Werft to build.

The first ship in the class, the Disney Wish, was delivered in 2023 and the second, the Disney Treasure, in 2024.
