The queue was long, as up to 1,000 people visited the frigate Niels Juel on Sunday evening while the ship was docked in Nuuk. Earlier in the day, the French president, Emmanuel Macron, visited the frigate as part of his visit to Greenland.

The frigate Niels Juel will in the coming period carry out operational tasks in the waters around Greenland, but before that, an open ship event was held on Sunday evening—and the interest in coming aboard was great.

The nearly 1,000 attendees had the opportunity to greet the crew and meet students from Class 2, Arctic Basic Training, writes the Danish Defence in a post on X.

It was also possible to get close to an EH101 rescue helicopter and talk to the crew.

Before that, the frigate had received distinguished visitors, including the French president, Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and the Greenlandic government leader, Jens-Frederik Nielsen.
