Denmark-based shipper Maersk has said that it will be replacing its Algeciras, Spain, northbound call on its SAECS service with a call to Port Tangier.
Maersk told clients that “given the challenges being faced in Algeciras, and to continue providing the best service to our customers, we will be making some deployment changes to our SAECS service.”
The updated rotation will be as follows:
Port Elizabeth > Durban > Cape Town > Port Tangier > Rotterdam > London Gateway > Bremerhaven > Rotterdam > Algeciras > Port Elizabeth.
The deployment changes are to create a more competitive transit time. The southbound Algeciras call will remain. The new rotation will be effective from the 85,676 gt Denmark-flagged Santa Cruz (IMO 9444742) , which is scheduled to depart Port Elizabeth today, July 28th. It is entered with North of England. As of July 27th it was en route from Ceoga, South Africa, to Durban, South Africa, ETA July 29th.
