Maersk launches New Zealand service

Must read

Maersk has announced the introduction of an upgraded service offering to support logistics requirements covering New Zealand and the Islands.

Commencing on 17 May from the port of Tauranga, the new NZPAC network will offer improved service frequency with a fixed day, weekly service from New Zealand (Tauranga, Auckland) to Fiji (Suva, Lautoka) and Samoa (Apia).

The Danish ocean carrier said the upgraded service will also provide fortnightly coverage through American Samoa (Pago Pago) and Tonga (Nuku’alofa).

The vessels PFL Matai, Capitaine Tasman and Capitaine Tupaia will be deployed on the NZPAC service rotation.

As part of this network upgrade, the current Fiji Express service will be discontinued. Maersk noted that ex-New Zealand shipments for subsequent Fiji Express sailings will be replanned to the new NZPAC service, while ex-Fiji and Pacific Islands shipments will be transferred to the earliest available NZPAC voyage following the implementation of the new scheduling.
