Maersk presented its new FI2 service that will connect the Asian Far East with the Indian subcontinent. The route, designed to strengthen network coverage and offer greater flexibility, aims to provide enhanced connectivity from southern and central China to key fast-growing markets in northwestern India and Pakistan.

The route will have a port rotation with calls at Shanghai – Ningbo – Nansha – Tanjung Pelepas – Nhava Sheva – Pipavav – Port Qasim. The inaugural westbound voyage will begin with the container vessel Maersk Cotonu, departing from Shanghai, China, on June 4, 2026.

“With the launch of FI2, we now offer two direct services from the Far East to India. FI2 will complement our current FI3 service, providing greater direct coverage, better routing options, and higher reliability to meet your supply chain needs between the Far East and the Indian subcontinent,” the shipping line stated.
