Maersk Training, GiraffeWork to establish offshore wind training centre in Japan

Maersk Training and GiraffeWork, a subsidiary of Daikyo Kenki, have signed an agreement to establish a training centre for the wind industry in Japan, offering courses in accordance with the requirements of the Global Wind Organisation

 

The centre, ‘GiraffeWork powered by Maersk Training,’ which will be the first of its type in Japan, will open March 2024 in Kawasaki-City, and will have a maximum annual capacity of 1,500 students.

It will be equipped with the latest pool equipment and will have a marine survival course adapted to the needs of the offshore wind industry.

In addition, the training centre will provide advanced rescue training, advanced first aid training and a Basic Technical Training course in accordance with GWO.

GiraffeWork is a newly established company that wants to play a central role in the development of the onshore and offshore wind power industry in Japan.

Riviera Maritime Media has a comprehensive conference programme for the rest of 2022 and will provide free technical and operational webinars in 2023.
