Malik Energy has launched a new internal leadership development initiative designed to strengthen management capability across the Malik Group. The programme, titled Managing the Malik Way, brings together managers from Malik Supply A/S and Malik Energy A/S for a structured series of modules focused on collaboration, practical case work, and leadership alignment.
Anthony Kerley, through Hemsley Fraser, a learning services provider, facilitates the programme, which has been developed around Malik’s organisational structure and values. According to Malik Energy, the aim is to equip its leadership team with a shared framework for decision-making, communication, and strategic execution as the group continues to expand its activities in the marine fuels sector.
During this initiative, participants work with real cases from within the business, a component that Sales Manager for Chemicals & Lubricants, Michael Rye Jørgensen, describes as one of the programme’s key strengths. “It really makes us reflect on our own practice, what we do well, what we can improve, and how we can bring the strategy to life as the link between top management and the organisation,” he said.
Jørgensen added that the programme has already influenced his personal leadership approach. “I’m much more conscious of my communication. I’ve always been solution-oriented, but now I focus more on giving employees the space to find their own solutions. It creates ownership and often yields even better results.” He also highlighted Kerley’s facilitation style, noting his empathetic and reflective approach and emphasis on guiding participants rather than offering “quick fixes.”
“We look forward to following the continued development of our managing team and to seeing The Malik Way grow even stronger,” the organisation added.
Malik Group includes both Malik Supply A/S and Malik Energy A/S. It operates as a physical supplier in Denmark, Greenland and the Northern Atlantic, and as a bunker trader worldwide. The Group has offices in Denmark, Greece, Greenland and Sweden.
