The president of the Valencia Port Authority, Mar Chao, is participating in the International Port Entrepreneurship Congress (Peic 2025), which is being held in the capital of the Turia. The president of the Port Authority inaugurated the event, together with the general director of the Valenciaport Foundation, Antonio Torregrosa. The Congress brings together port representatives, startups, logistics corporations and investors from all over the world.
“Our commitment is to advance towards a more competitive, sustainable and resilient port, working hand in hand with the entire port community of Valencia, Castellón and Gandía and with the international innovative ecosystem,” Mar Chao made clear, highlighting the role that innovation has in the Valencia port’s Strategic Plan. In her dialogue with Antonio Torregrosa, the president of the Port Authority also stated that “there are uncertainties about the fuels of the future or about the real impact of artificial intelligence, but we must be prepared to adopt the technologies that drive competitiveness and the decarbonization of maritime transport,” assured Chao.
The objectives presented by the entrepreneurs at this Peic 25 aim to achieve greater visibility, by offering a possibility of quality networking and contact with the port community. “Through Opentop and the collaboration between the public and private sectors and startups, we are building the port of the future: more sustainable, smarter and more connected,” stated Mar Chao, president of the Valencia Port Authority. This Congress, which is celebrating its third edition, is being held in the City of Arts and Sciences and includes demonstrations and round tables with the participation of 20 selected startups.
