Caremar changes its leadership. From 1 July 2026, Mariano Giovene is the new Chief Executive Officer of the Campania shipping company: the appointment was approved by the shareholders’ meeting and marks the start of a new management phase for a company that ensures daily maritime connections between Naples, Pozzuoli and Sorrento and the islands of Ischia, Capri and Procida, with a mixed fleet of ships and hydrofoils.
Giovene brings with him skills developed in facility management and administrative experience in the maritime sector. His task will be to coordinate company activities with a view to improving the operational efficiency of a service that is not only commercial but constitutes essential infrastructure for residents and commuters of the island communities.
Among the priorities awaiting the new CEO, the quality of connections in the winter period ranks first, when weather conditions and the drop in demand make it more difficult to guarantee adequate standards in terms of frequency and regularity. It is in those weeks, more than in the summer season, that the service reveals its nature as a daily necessity for those who live on the islands and work or study on the mainland.
Caremar operates in the regional maritime transport system under the business grouping established in 2015 by Snav S.p.A. and Rifim S.p.A., which took over its management while maintaining the company’s reference role for mobility in the Gulf of Naples.
