A tropical depression over waters east of the Philippines was upgraded to Tropical Storm Songda Thursday, although the storm was expected to hit northern China, but to spare Taiwan and Shanghai. Songda is the fifth tropical storm in the region this year

FPSO Sea Eagle (IMO 9198185) reported water ingress on Jul 24th when it was positioned in EA field southwest of Warii, Nigeria. No real updates yet. The leak didn’t affect oil storage area, said FPSO operator Shell.

2002-built, Nigeria-flagged, 112,334 gt Sea Eagle is owned and managed by Shell Petroleum Nigeria. It is entered with Standard Club (Standard Offshore division) on behalf of Shell Petroleum Development Co of Nigeria Ltd.

Fire erupted on board passenger ship Ciremai (IMO 9032135) on July 28th, with black smoke billowing from Economy Class Passengers Quarters, where the fire started. The ship was said to have been running trials off Jakarta after repairs, and was to enter scheduled
service on August 3rd. The fire will delay deployment. No injuries were reported.

1993-built, Indonesia-flagged, 14,581 gt Ciremai is owned by Indonesia Govt Min Sea Comms of Jakarta, Indonesia. It is managed by Pelni of Jakarta, Indonesia.

Container ship Marvel (IMO 9296456) allided with a berth after its arrival at Mizushima Port, Japan, during manoeuvring, on July 28th. No information on the extent of damage to the hull and the berth. However, the vessel appears to have left the port on July 29th. As
of July 31st the vessel was at anchor in Busan New Port Anchorage, South Korea.

2004-built, Bahamas-flagged, 5,403 gt Marvel is owned by Continent Maritime SA care of manager Kotoku Kaiun KK of Imabari, Japan. It is entered with Britannia on behalf of Continent Maritime SA.
