A fire broke out on board /vehicle RoRo Nusa Penida (IMO 8328317) during the afternoon
of July 16th while it was docked at Dukuh Raya Port, western Lombok, Indonesia.
The people who were on board fled onto the pier via an already lowered ramp. No
injuries were reported. There were no passengers on board as the ferry was undergoing
repairs at Dukuh Raya. The fire was extinguished the same evening. Officers
explored the vessel and found a dead body, badly burnt. The West Lombok police
opened an investigation and interviewed potential witnesses. The cause of the
incident was not known, although some reports blamed sparks that came from the
welding process during docking for maintenance at the port of Dukuh Raya in
Teluk Waru.
1983-built, Indonesia-flagged, 649 gt Nusa Peinda is
owned and managed by Putera Master Sarana Lines of Jakarta, Indonesia.
During the fire aboard tankship Ahmet Telli (IMO 9035292) in Temryuk, Russia, a duty deck officer
was injured and transferred from the vessel to hospital. After the local fire
brigade teams had extinguished the fire, the cooling operation was made by
shore and sea side. The local authority has placed an incident investigation
file. The vessel shifted from the pier to anchorage for safety reasons. No
pollution was reported. Class surveyors and H&M insurance experts were
appointed to carry out further investigations. Following the inspections, it
was found that the cargo spaces, storage tanks, deck and other locations were
not affected by the fire. The vessel’s departure permission was cancelled by
the Harbour Master, until submission of the class surveyor’s technical report.
1994-built, Turkey-flagged, 4,065 gt Ahmet Telli is owned
and managed by Gemiciler Denizcilik Sanayi of Istanbul, Turkey. It is entered

Sanayi.
Chemical tanker Zengo
Leader (IMO 9054042) was detained northeast of Tanjung Penawar, Malaysia,
on July 10th. The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency detained the vessel for
allegedly anchoring without permission.
1992-built, Malaysia-flagged, 567 gt Zengo Leader is
reported as sold to an undisclosed interest. As of July 18th it was listed as
entered with Shipowners’ Club on behalf of Zengo Corporation Sdn Bhd.
Cargo ship Jin Hai
Zheng (IMO 9590993) was arrested on July 13th on the order of the High
Court in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The vessel was offloading imported cargo at
berth J/4. It had arrived on June 15th, berthed on July 5 and was shifted to
the outer anchorage of Chittagong on July 14th. As of July 19th the vessel was
underway from Chittagong to Singapore, ETA July 24th,
2011-built, China-flagged, 29,255 gt Jin Hai Zheng is
owned and managed by Fujian Shipping Co of Fujian, China. ISM manager is Fusco
Zhongping Ship Management Co of Fujian, China. It is entered with UK Club on
behalf of Fujian Shipping Co.
Tankship Capricorn (IMO 9186455) was detained east of Tanjung Sedili Kechil on July 8th by the
Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, for allegedly anchoring without
permission. As of July 15th the ship remained at Pengerang Anchorage.
1998-built, Thailand-flagged, 2,752 gt Capricorn is owned
by Siam Marine Line Co Ltd of Bangkok, Thailand. It is managed by Thai Tankers
Co Ltd of Bangkok, Thailand.
