The two companies share an industrial vision based on tradition and reliability
Medov Group announces the acquisition of 50% of Prosper, a historic Genoese maritime agency founded in 1955 and for seventy years owned by the Castelbarco Albani family. The operation marks the beginning of a new phase in the company’s history and initiates a shared project that unites the multi-sector experience of Medov Group, the territorial roots of Prosper, and the freight forwarding know-how of its subsidiary Erixmar, led by President Stelio Taraschi.
For decades, Prosper has been a reference point in the port of Genoa for international shipowners and P&I Clubs, thanks to integrated services that include comprehensive assistance to ships in port, technical and commercial coordination of operations, 24/7 operational support, and specialized activities such as the handling of high-value vehicles and prototypes, in addition to the management of maritime claims with the support of legal and technical experts.
“The start of this new chapter is a source of great satisfaction for us. The entry of Medov Group will offer Prosper new opportunities for growth and development, allowing us to further strengthen our positioning in the sector and face market challenges with even more energy,” states Laura Castelbarco, President of Prosper”.
Following the operation, Prosper’s governance will combine continuity and renewal: Laura Castelbarco will remain president, while Giulio Schenone, Group CEO of Medov Group, will join the board of directors. Operational management will be entrusted to the new CEOs Gianfranco Gazzolo (raccomandatario of Prosper) and Luigi Derchi (General Manager of Medov Shipping Services).
Commenting on the agreement, Schenone states that “the entry into Prosper represents an important step in the Group’s growth path. We share with the Castelbarco family and with Stelio Taraschi an industrial vision based on tradition, reliability, and the value of expertise. By uniting our experiences we intend to further strengthen our presence in the shipping sector, creating new development opportunities for clients, partners, and territories”.
