The Port Authority of Naxos was informed of a mechanical failure, due to a temperature increase in an electromechanical engine, of the cargo – vehicle ferry (/V) ship «TALOS» N.P. 10899, after its departure from the port of Naxos.
The ship was performing a scheduled route from the port of Keratsini to Syros – Tinos – Mykonos – Paros – Naxos and Ios and return, with twenty (20) crew members and four (04) passengers. The ship safely anchored at the Naxos anchorage, while after the submission of a relevant certificate from the classification society monitoring it, departure was permitted for a single voyage to the port of Keratsini. The /V arrived at the port of Keratsini, where the B’ Port Section of Keratsini of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus prohibited its departure until the repair of the damage and the submission of a class maintenance certificate from the classification society monitoring it.
