Mersin International Port (MIP) marked a milestone with the berthing of the 400-meter mega vessel MSC DITTE at its newly completed East Med Hub 2 (EMH2) Terminal, which spans 880 meters, the company said in a statement.
The 19,313 TEU container ship’s arrival was celebrated with a ceremony highlighting MIP’s expanding role in international maritime logistics.
The EMH2 Terminal, equipped with deep quay infrastructure, high-capacity cranes, and advanced digital operations, is ready to handle the world’s largest vessels and enhance Mersin’s connectivity across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
Mersin International Port (MIP) is operated by Mersin International Port Operations Inc., a joint venture between Türkiye-based Akfen Holding and Singapore-based PSA International. The company took over operations of T.C.D.D. Mersin Port in 2007 under a 36-year concession. MIP also includes the Australian fund IFM Investors among its shareholders. It is one of Türkiye’s largest ports, connected by rail and road to major industrial cities and neighboring countries.
