More than 3 million 800 thousand tons of Mexican coffee are exported annually from the Port of Manzanillo, according to statistics from the Administration of the National Port System Manzanillo.
This product is sent to more than 48 countries, including Germany, Belgium, Canada, Cuba, China, the United States, Italy, Holland, Denmark and Japan.
The State of Colima exports more than 30% of its arabica production, sending more than 3 thousand one hundred tons per year to different regions of the world.
The United States continues to acquire more than 62% of Mexican coffee exports, followed by the member nations of the European Union, as well as Japan.
According to information released by the International Coffee Organization, Mexico ranks eleventh among coffee producers in the world and its production represents 0.66% of the national agricultural Gross Domestic Product.
Colima, for its part, has gradually been positioning itself among the producing entities, with coffee cultivated mainly in the municipalities of Comala, Coquimatlán, Minatitlán and Manzanillo being exported.
