The productivity of the ports of Paraná between January and October reached 61,213,363 tons. The products that led exports were soybeans (13,015,446 tons), soybean meal (5,517,043 tons) and bulk sugar (4,660,606 tons).
“Everything indicates that we will surpass the 2024 record, which was 66.7 million tons handled, as we have already reached 91.75% of the entire result of last year. Our goal is to close 2025 with more than 70 million,” emphasized the CEO of Portos do Paraná, Luiz Fernando Garcia.
Corn surges and drives October result
The cargo that showed the highest increase in exports in October was corn, which totaled 3,547,433 tons, an increase of 275% compared to the same month in 2024 (945,174 tons). “The production in our state was very positive, favoring the export of the product, combined with the capacity of our export corridors that operate all year round without queues for docking,” said the director of Port Operations, Gabriel Vieira.
In total, 5,867,284 tons were handled in October, representing US$ 4.2 billion in FOB value (value of the cargo at the time of shipment), a result that surpasses the historical record for the month. Exports accounted for the majority of the cargo, totaling 3,552,621 tons. “We also have an advance in soybean exports, mainly in grain, which reached 815,327 tons in the month,” highlighted Vieira.
In container operations, shipments expanded by 24%, with over 890 tons leaving from Paranaguá. In the cumulative ten months, it is more than 7.9 million tons, a positive variation of 4%. Frozen poultry meat accounted for 25.8% of exports in containers, with 2,270,587 tons in the year — maintaining the Port of Paranaguá as the largest chicken meat export corridor in the world.
Regarding soybean oil exports, Paranaguá remains the national leader. By the end of October, the Port was responsible for shipping 63% of the entire national production, destined for countries totaling more than 860 thousand tons. In the overall movement of liquid bulk, 8,025,092 tons were handled this year, representing a growth of over 3% compared to last year (7,799,610 tons).
Fertilizers lead imports and keep Paraná in first national position
In landings, fertilizers concentrated the largest volume, with 916,109 tons. The monthly result, however, was 18% below that recorded in October 2024. Even so, in the cumulative for the year, the ports of Paraná remain the national leader in receiving this type of cargo, with a 6% increase compared to the previous year.
Paraná remains the main gateway for fertilizers in the country, with just over 25% of all Brazilian imports. “We had great efficiency, the perspective is to reach close to 12 million tons of fertilizers this year, showing that our complex has adequate infrastructure and is ready to serve the market,” highlighted Vieira.
Dockings and truck flow already surpass the entire year of 2024
The number of ship dockings already surpasses the entire movement of 2024: 2,341 dockings so far, compared to 2,298 recorded last year.
The flow of trucks in the sorting yard of the Port of Paranaguá also advanced: the volume is 22% higher than the total recorded in 2024.
There were 444,177 trucks loaded with solid bulk, such as soybeans and bran, compared to 392,214 vehicles in the previous year.
The circulation of railway wagons also showed an evolution, with 17% more trains received in the last 30 days analyzed. The amount of cargo transported by this mode grew 33% compared to October 2024. In the total for the year, there is a small reduction of 1% in the number of wagons and a 0.4% drop in cargo received by rail.
