MSC has signed an agreement to manage an inland terminal in Bangladesh.

The MSC subsidiary, Medlog, has signed a 22-year concession agreement to manage the Pangaon Inland Container Terminal located along the Buriganga River near the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka.

Medlog plans to expand the handling capacity from 116,000 TEU to 160,000 TEU and to improve the logistics supply chain with digitalization plans on the books to optimize logistics management. Inland barges will connect PICT to other river terminals and seaports.

“Our investment in the Pangaon Inland Container Terminal reflects our belief that Bangladesh has the potential to become one of South Asia’s leading gateways for regional and global trade,” says MSC’s CEO, Soren Toft.
