Recently, it was learned from the Wuhan Waterway Bureau of the Yangtze River that four multi-functional navigation marks in the construction waters of the Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge in the Huguang Waterway of the Yangtze River have been officially put into use. This batch of navigation marks was precisely deployed over 8 hours by the Yangluo Waterway Office of the Wuhan Waterway Bureau of the Yangtze River. They not only establish an intelligent立体 monitoring network for the core construction area of the bridge but also strengthen the navigation safety barrier for the intelligent upgrade of waterway services, injecting strong Yangtze River waterway momentum into the integrated development of the Wu-E-Huang metropolitan area.

Recently, as the water level of the Yangtze River continues to recede, the navigation environment in the construction waters of the Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge has become increasingly complex. To ensure the safety of both the bridge construction and navigating vessels, the Wuhan Waterway Bureau of the Yangtze River, based on the actual needs of the construction party, precisely deployed 2 hydrological navigation marks and 2 service navigation marks.

It is understood that the hydrological navigation marks are equipped with high-precision sensors capable of collecting key data such as flow velocity, water depth, and meteorological conditions in real-time. Data transmission delay is controlled at the second level. Through a monitoring platform, they provide customized and precise hydrological information to the bridge management unit, helping the construction party to scientifically coordinate and accurately schedule construction based on real-time data. The service navigation marks integrate Beidou positioning and IoT modules, featuring intelligent early warning and voice broadcast functions such as AIS and VHF. When passing vessels approach the safety perimeter, they automatically issue alerts via VHF, reminding vessels to avoid collision risks with the marks and stay away from dangerous waters. Dispatch personnel can also remotely monitor the navigation situation in the construction area in real-time, creating a safe and reliable navigation environment for passing vessels.

“The deployment of these four multi-functional navigation marks signifies that a full-chain safety management network has been formed in the bridge area waters,” introduced a relevant responsible person. “Through the monitoring platform, we can achieve resource sharing with the bridge construction unit, and passing vessels can receive customized warning information, completely changing the traditional ‘passive warning’ service model of navigation marks. This is not just a simple upgrade of navigation marks but also establishes a dual guarantee system of ‘physical visibility + digital perceptibility,’ promoting the leap of navigation mark services from ‘single-point warning’ to ‘regional perception.’”

Since the beginning of this year, relying on the achievements of the Wuhan Demonstration Section of the Smart Waterway, the Wuhan Waterway Bureau of the Yangtze River has consistently adhered to the development concept of innovation-led growth. In waterway maintenance work, it actively researches and promotes the application of new materials, technologies, and equipment, continuously driving the transformation of scientific research results into practical applications, with a focus on key project waters such as the Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge, fully ensuring the safety and smoothness of the waterways.
