Recently, the domestically first-built 16,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship “COSCO SHIPPING Yangpu,” constructed by Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, was successfully delivered at Changxing Island in Shanghai. The company has successfully completed the EPC turnkey project for the ship’s interior outfitting.

Following the successful completion of the N1065 series (14,000 TEU container ship) interior outfitting projects, the company leveraged its strong collaborative foundation with Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry to secure the EPC turnkey contract for the 16,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship’s interior outfitting. However, this project presented even greater challenges, with nearly 20% of the construction taking place off-site. The primary challenge for the project team was efficiently coordinating personnel between the off-site and shipyard locations within the extremely tight construction window after the off-site jacking operations, ensuring synchronized progress without delays. To address this, the company innovatively established an “off-site collaborative operation” model: After the N1071 vessel docked off-site, the company’s operations department immediately coordinated with technical, procurement, and project teams. Under the guidance of the ship outfitting division, a specialized task force was formed, establishing a single-point contact mechanism with the shipyard to achieve same-day problem identification and resolution, ensuring efficient and synchronized progress at both sites.

With the strong support of Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, the company ultimately delivered the interior outfitting turnkey project with high quality, ensuring the vessel’s sea trials proceeded on schedule. This project fully demonstrated the company’s EPC turnkey capabilities, showcasing professional expertise across the entire process from design optimization and material procurement to construction management. Notably, it established replicable innovative experience in off-site collaborative construction management.

Moving forward, the company will continue to leverage its professional strengths in ship interior outfitting EPC turnkey projects, adhering to the service philosophy of “rapid response and efficient collaboration” to provide partners with superior marine outfitting solutions and jointly advance the development of green shipping.
