On May 6, the Xiaomo Port Area under Shenzhen Port Group successfully launched its first general cargo foreign trade route. The “CORIO BAY” vessel, which undertook the maiden voyage, carried modular prefabricated houses manufactured by Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone Zhongjian Integrated Construction Intelligent Manufacturing (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., heading to APEC member economies, with the entire journey taking only about 11 days. This is a concrete practice of Shenzhen Port Group actively responding to the Belt and Road Initiative and participating in APEC regional economic and trade cooperation.

As an important business breakthrough for the Xiaomo Port Area based on the continuous consolidation of its advantage in automobile /roll-off exports, the opening of this new route successfully extends the port area’s service capabilities to broader manufacturing sectors such as modular construction and high-end equipment, densifying the shipping network facing the South Pacific region, further strengthening the maritime logistics connectivity between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and APEC member economies, injecting strong momentum into enhancing regional trade facilitation and promoting a higher level of opening up.

The total volume of this exported cargo reached 8,040 cubic meters. With strong support from port authorities and relevant competent departments, Shenzhen Investment Company under Shenzhen Port Group coordinated resources from all parties, continuously optimized operational processes and customs clearance efficiency, providing manufacturing enterprises with “one-stop” comprehensive logistics services including booking, customs declaration, loading and unloading, and sea transportation, precisely solving enterprises’ logistics challenges in “going global,” successfully completing the maiden voyage support task, and significantly enhancing the international market competitiveness of products “Made in Shenzhen-Shanwei” and “Made in the Greater Bay Area.”

In the future, the Xiaomo Port Area will continue to expand its shipping network, continuously improve its comprehensive service capacity, further smooth international logistics channels, empower the industrial upgrading and quality improvement and stable foreign trade growth of the Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone, and provide solid support for enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to deeply integrate into the global industrial chain and promote the high-level “going global” of “Made in China.”
