People’s Daily Online, Xi’an, August 7 (Reporter Jia Kailu) On August 5, freight train 24211, loaded with more than 3,000 tons of coal, departed from Zhongji Station in Yulin, Shaanxi, heading south to Yangtun Station in Jiangsu, where it was then transferred to water transport via Xuzhou Port and finally arrived at Pizhou Port.
This is the first “one-order” coal special train for rail-water intermodal transport from Shaanxi to Jiangsu, and also the second “one-order” coal rail-water intermodal transport corridor opened by China Railway Xi’an Group Co., Ltd. following “Shaanxi coal entering Jiangxi,” adding a new logistics corridor for China’s north-to-south coal transport.
Unlike the traditional model in which rail and water transport are handled separately and settled independently, the “one-order” rail-water intermodal transport adopts a seamless intermodal model of “one-time entrustment, one document throughout, one container direct delivery, and one-time settlement.” Customers only need to make a single entrustment to obtain a “one-stop” logistics solution covering the entire “rail + water” chain, greatly simplifying the business handling process. In addition, after containers arrive at the station, there is no need to unpack them; they are directly transferred to water transport, eliminating secondary loading and unloading losses, and the entire process can be tracked in real time through the railway 95306 website.
From January to July this year, China Railway Xi’an Group Co., Ltd. has cumulatively shipped 3,516 TEUs of “one-order” rail-water intermodal cargo, an increase of 3,406 TEUs compared with the same period last year. The two routes “Dabaodang—Jiujiang Port—Zhangshu Port” and “Xi’an International Port—Wuhan Port—Taicang Port” have been included in the China State Railway Group’s demonstration routes for rail-water intermodal transport.
