On June 20, the集中试航 ceremony for the first batch of nine new energy intelligent vessels from China Technology Shipbuilding was held at Nanning Port, Guangxi. This is an important achievement in deepening economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and Hong Kong, and also provides a localized practice model for the development of green intelligent shipping in global inland rivers and shallow seas.

The nine new energy intelligent vessels in this trial voyage cover unmanned intelligent ships, commercial workboats, and civilian leisure boats, suitable for various scenarios such as law enforcement patrol, scenic area sightseeing, and private water leisure. Among them, the unmanned vessels rely on a multi-source perception system for autonomous navigation and intelligent obstacle avoidance; high-end commercial vessels are equipped with BeiDou navigation and L2-level intelligent assisted driving, meeting high-demand scenarios such as emergency response and scientific research; mid-to-low-end vessels are economical and durable, suitable for daily operations; civilian vessels balance comfort and practicality, catering to water leisure needs. The full series of products builds a “full scenario, full series, full intelligence” product matrix, leveraging aerospace-derived technologies to complete the intelligent upgrade of the traditional shipbuilding industry.

According to incomplete statistics, there are up to one million small vessels in domestic rivers and shallow seas, consuming 13 to 20 million tons of diesel annually. This huge stock presents significant replacement potential, and the “oil-to-electric” transition for ships has become an inevitable trend in shipping transformation. For a long time, diesel-powered small boats have supported grassroots waterborne industries such as rural commuting, fisheries, water transport, and water tourism, but have also brought problems like oil leakage and exhaust pollution. The large-scale batch deployment of new energy intelligent vessels will reshape the inland river and shallow sea shipping system from multiple dimensions.

At the event site that day, China Technology Shipbuilding signed strategic cooperation agreements with nine domestic and international enterprises, including Malaysia Sabah Labuan Trading Co., Ltd., USA Token Hengshan Technology, and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Investment Promotion Association, covering areas such as joint research and development, overseas factory construction, channel sales, and regional agency.

A representative from China Technology Shipbuilding stated that the company will base itself in Guangxi, radiate to ASEAN, and go global, systematically exporting “Chinese technology, Chinese standards, and Chinese services,” precisely matching the rigid demand of the trillion-level market for green upgrades in global inland river and shallow sea shipping, and accelerating the promotion and sales of electric intelligent vessels. The company plans to officially operate the first domestic new energy ship 6S store on July 20, with a target of delivering 1,000 vessels for the year; by 2027, it plans to have no fewer than 50 6S stores in China and no fewer than 10 overseas, delivering 10,000 vessels annually; by 2028, it aims to establish 200 service outlets domestically and 100 overseas, steadily building a complete integrated industrial ecosystem covering research, production, sales, and maintenance.

China Technology Group is an international group listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with an aerospace technology background. Leveraging its accumulated aerospace manufacturing technology, it focuses on pure electric power and intelligent navigation systems to create a full-scenario vessel matrix. This集中试航 is a vivid example of the company seizing opportunities of the times and deeply engaging in low-carbon manufacturing, a significant achievement of Guangxi-Hong Kong collaboration and deep cooperation, and a lively practice of deeply implementing the development of new quality productive forces.
