As the President and CEO of the Patras Port Authority, Panagiotis G. Anastasopoulos, states, this modern highway of strategic importance is evolving into a “critical tool” for the port, supporting the development of the wider area.
“The upgraded road connection substantially enhances freight traffic, serving the primary sector of Ilia and the southeastern Peloponnese with greater speed and safety,” he notes in a post. He also adds that agricultural production now reaches the country’s exit gateway faster and more effectively, boosting the export character of small businesses and strengthening their competitiveness in international markets. It is noted that the new road is now in the final stage of completion.
