The Northwest Sea Alliance (NWSA) has reported solid container levels in February, with full container volumes reaching 226,603 TEU, up 0.4 per cent from February 2023.

Vessel calls at the NWSA increased 10 per cent in February and 13 per cent year-to-date (YTD), allowing complete international exports to maintain their six-month growth run, gaining 9.7 per cent over February 2023.

Full international imports fell 1.5 per cent, while total international volumes fell 0.5 per cent.

Volume comparisons were down 0.2 per cent YTD to 437,887 TEU, with full imports marginally up and full exports up 14.2 per cent.

Domestic container volume fell 0.6 per cent YTD 2024 compared to YTD 2023. Alaska volumes rose 1 per cent, while Hawaii volumes fell 7.9 per cent.

In January, NWSA received $12 million from the newly formed Federal Zero-Emission Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Grant Program.
